Laurence Garvie – Faculty Research Associate, School of Earth and Space Exploration. Garvie, a mineralogist in the School of Earth and Space Exploration, investigates extreme environments, from the distant reaches of outer space to the Sonoran Desert, on a microscopic level. The ASU mineralogist finds that such places provide endless opportunites for discovery. In a sub terranian lab on campus, Garvie uses powerful tools, such as a scanning electron microscope, to probe the origins of our world.
