Her parents came to Tucson from China to build a better life for themselves and their children. Esther Tang grew up working in her family's grocery stores. Following that example, she and her husband David built a chain of markets while raising their own children. Tang also found time to be active in numerous community causes as Tucson grew from a sleepy pueblo to a vibrant modern city.Stories of Arizona, a series showcasing the people and history of Arizona, premieres as a special feature of HORIZON June 3, 2002 at 7 p.m. on Channel 8. New episodes will air every Monday through September.
