KAET-TV/Channel 8
KAET, a part of Arizona State University, has been bringing viewers quality programming for more than 38 years. With more than 1.5 million people watching the station each week, KAET consistently ranks among the most-viewed public television stations in the country. A trusted community resource, KAET enriches the lives of Arizonans through quality programs and educational services that inform, inspire and entertain. KAET's daily children's programming helps children start school ready to learn. Each year, more than 300,000 K-12 students watch programs distributed to classrooms by KAET in partnership with ASSET (Arizona School Services through Educational Technology). Our GED programs help adults get their high school diplomas, and many students earn college credits through ASU telecourses. In addition to airing programs distributed nationally by PBS, KAET produces its own award-winning programs. Especially noteworthy are HORIZON, an acclaimed nightly public affairs program, and The Arizona Collection, a continuing series of programs that explores the land, history and people of Arizona. Savor the Southwest is the newest addition to The Arizona Collection, which also includes Visions of Arizona, Southwest Symphony, and the Emmy Award-winning Barry Goldwater: Photographs & Memories, Thieves of Time and Legends & Dreamers Inspired by Arizona Highways.
