MORMON TABERNACLE CHOIR SALUTES OUR ARMED FORCES FOR VETERANS DAY

The 360 Choristers Pay Tribute to U.S. Veterans and Perform Alongside
Broadway Performers Brian Stokes Mitchell and Linda Eder

PHOENIX…October 31, 2012…The world-renowned, all-volunteer Mormon Tabernacle Choir will pay a special tribute to the men and women who have served the United States in times of war in a special concert Friday, November 9 at 9 p.m. on Eight, Arizona PBS. The patriotic holiday program will be broadcast from Temple Square in Salt Lake City, Utah.

As the choir performs, viewers will see inspirational video vignettes featuring veterans of World War II, Iraq and Afghanistan. The 360-voice choir will perform alongside Broadway performers Brian Stokes Mitchell and Linda Eder on several arrangements including a stirring rendition of Battle Hymn of the Republic. Other songs featured in this special include When the Saints Go Marching In and Let There Be Peace on Earth.

The Mormon Tabernacle Choir’s exceptionally talented musicians represent men and women from different backgrounds and professions, ranging in age from 25 to 60. The choir reflects a medley of unique lives and experiences brought together by their love for singing and their faith.

Eight viewers look forward to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir’s holiday shows every year.
