ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME LIVE

This winter, Eight/KAET viewers will be turning up the volume and rocking out to Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, a collection of 10 unique performances culled from a 24-year span of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremonies. This program is part of special programming airing Monday, Nov. 30, 2009 at 9 p.m. on Eight/KAET. The multi-talented Paul Shaffer, who serves as the music director for the annual ceremony as well as “The Late Show with David Letterman,” hosts this presentation.
The biggest names in rock perform in intimate settings and jam in combinations not seen anywhere else. The program features exclusive anything-goes induction speeches by rock royalty, along with rare behind-the-scenes footage. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Live boasts 10 thrilling performances, including:
- A jaw-dropping version of the Beatles “I Saw Her Standing There” with George Harrison, Ringo Starr, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, John Fogerty, Mick Jagger and Billy Joel.
- An all-star tribute to George Harrison with Tom Petty, Steve Winwood and Jeff Lynne performing “While My Guitar Gently Weeps,” culminating in an electrifying guitar solo by Prince.
- An emotional finale of “Let it Be” featuring Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton, Bono, Bruce Springsteen, Bonnie Raitt, Robbie Robertson, Dion, Billy Joel and others.
