Arizona PBS Passport is the newest benefit for eligible Arizona PBS members that provides extended access to an on-demand library of quality public television programming. Featuring both PBS and select local programming, Arizona PBS Passport allows you to watch even more episodes of your favorite shows, including full seasons of many current and past series. Arizona PBS Passport is available for an annual membership of at least $60 or $5 ongoing monthly Sustainer donation.

What is Arizona PBS Passport?

Arizona PBS Passport is a new member benefit which provides Arizona PBS donors extended on-demand access to a rich library of quality public television programming online and via your mobile device. This is one of the many benefits that Arizona PBS provides its donors along with the Arizona PBS Quarterly, our seasonal full size magazine with a deeper dive into the programming you love.

Why is Arizona PBS making this service available?

As more and more people are watching television content on demand on computers and digital devices, Arizona PBS Passport gives Arizona PBS donors a way to enjoy extended access to PBS and Arizona PBS content on platforms including computers, smartphones and tablets.

What kind of content can people find on Arizona PBS Passport?

At launch, Arizona PBS Passport included several hundred hours of programming, representing many genres, including drama, science, history, natural history and the arts. Notable titles include MASTERPIECE series such as “Downton Abbey” and “Wolf Hall,” along with other favorites such as NATURE, GREAT PERFORMANCES, VICIOUS, EARTH A NEW WILD, HOW WE GOT TO NOW, THE GREAT BRITISH BAKING SHOW and many more. Arizona PBS Passport will also include popular Arizona PBS programs such as CHECK, PLEASE! ARIZONA, ARIZONA COLLECTIBLES, and ARIZONA HORIZON. The Arizona PBS Passport library will continue to grow as more series and episodes are added.

How can viewers find content that’s available on Arizona PBS Passport?

Members who wish to take advantage of Arizona PBS Passport, must activate their account for access. They will be asked to register to confirm their identity and membership status in order to start enjoying Arizona PBS Passport. Arizona PBS Passport can be accessed on Arizona PBS.org and on the PBS channel on Arizona PBS.org and on the PBS channel found on Apple TV and Roku streaming devices.

To access Passport videos on Roku (or Apple TV or Amazon Fire TV):

1. Enter the PBS channel on Roku.
2. At the top of the channel go to the Settings menu.
3. In the settings menu, at the bottom, there is an option to Deactivate Device. Select this option. The screen will not change.
4. Leave the PBS channel and go back to the main screen of the Roku. This will give the PBS channel the time to reset and deactivate itself.
5. Enter the PBS channel again. You will see a new screen saying the channel needs to be activated.
6. This new screen will give you activation instructions and an activation code, seven characters in length. Enter this code at    http://www.pbs.org/activate.
7. After you hit continue, you will be brought to a new page asking you to sign in with a Google, Facebook, or PBS account. Choose the account you    activated Passport with.
8. You will see a screen that your Roku has been activated. Return to the Roku where it will automatically update and you can begin watching Passport    videos.

Who is eligible for Arizona PBS Passport?

Arizona PBS Passport is the newest member benefit available from Arizona PBS for donors with a yearly contribution of at least $60 or an ongoing monthly Sustainer contribution of $5 or more. It cannot be purchased separately. Streaming video from Arizona PBS – including video that is available to Arizona PBS donors – is only available within the United States.

Will there still be free streaming on Arizona PBS.org and PBS.org?

PBS and Arizona PBS content will continue to be available for free on the Arizona PBS.org website, and other digital platforms. Arizona PBS Passport provides extended access to a rich library of content for Arizona PBS members to enjoy.

Certain content, including kids, news and public affairs programs such as THOMAS & FRIENDS as well as FRONTLINE, PBS NEWSHOUR, INDEPENDENT LENS and POV, will be accessible to everyone.

What desktop browser do I need?

Arizona PBS Passport supports the latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Safari.

How does Arizona PBS Passport align with the mission of public television?

Arizona PBS content is shared widely with the public on-air, online and on mobile devices after a program airs – that has not changed. Arizona PBS Passport goes one step further by offering extended access to additional content for station donors.

I’m not seeing my favorite PBS show in Arizona PBS Passport. Why not?

Initially, several hundred hours of content will be available via Arizona PBS Passport. This library of content will continue to grow over time as more titles are added.

I cannot afford to donate at this time. Is there a way for me to view this content?

All broadcast content remains available to all viewers on air per our broadcast schedule and will remain online and on mobile for at least two weeks and, in some cases, longer. We believe the new arrangement allows for ample viewing of excellent content, albeit for a more limited time for some programs.

Is Arizona PBS Passport available outside the U.S.?

Streaming video from Arizona PBS – including video that is available to Arizona PBS donors – is only available within the United States.
