Location:
In Coolidge, Arizona, about an hour-long drive from either Phoenix or
Tucson.
Driving Directions from Phoenix:
Take Interstate 10 East (toward Tucson) for approximately 40 miles, then
take the AZ-387 exit (Exit 185). Turn left at the end of the off-ramp
onto AZ-187/AZ-387. Go over Interstate 10 overpass, then make a right
turn onto AZ-387. Proceed over some low hills for about 7 miles to AZ-87.
Turn right on AZ-87 (in the direction of Coolidge) and continue for 4
miles to the intersection of AZ-87 and AZ-287. Turn right and look for
the entrance gate to the Monument about 1/4 mile on your right. Proceed
for 3/4 mile down the entrance road to the parking lot.
Recreation:
The visitors' center includes exhibits of village life during Hohokam
times. Outside, trails lead through the ruins of what was once the largest
compound in the prehistoric village. Self-guided tours are possible by
following signage. Guided tours are available. Additional areas are visible
from the observation deck in the picnic area.

Facilities:
There are restrooms, drinking fountains and picnic tables available.
Food service, public telephones, stores and gas stations are available
in nearby Coolidge. Pets must be on a leash and attended at all times.
Ruins, artifacts and natural features must not be touched or disturbed
in any manner.

Safety:
Visitors should plan ahead to take precautions against extreme summer
heat and sudden dust or rain storms. Visitors should also watch for venomous
reptiles.
