About KAET
KAET, a part of Arizona State University, has been bringing viewers
quality programming for more than 40 years. With more than 1.4 million
people watching the station each week, KAET consistently ranks among
the most-viewed public television stations in the country.
A trusted community resource, KAET enriches the lives
of Arizonans through quality programs and educational services that
inform, inspire and entertain. KAET's daily children's programming helps
children start school ready to learn. Each year, more than 300,000 K-12
students watch programs distributed to classrooms by KAET in partnerships
with ASSET (Arizona School Services through Educational Technology).
Our GED programs help adults get their high school diplomas, and many
students earn college credits through Arizona State University telecourses.
In April 2001, thanks to member support and a series of
federal matching grants, KAET began broadcasting simultaneously in both
analog (KAET) and digital (KAET-DT).
Our new equipment enables us to multicast (broadcast multiple channels
at the same time) and to broadcast programs in high definition.
In addition to airing programs distributed nationally
by PBS, KAET produces its own award-winning programs. Especially noteworthy
are HORIZON,
an acclaimed nightly public affairs program, and The
Arizona Collection, a continuing series of programs celebrating
the people, places and history of Arizona.
Kolb Brothers: Grand Canyon Pioneers is the newest
addition to The Arizona Collection, which also includes Arizona Memories
from the'60s, Southwest Symphony, Over Arizona, Ranch
Album and the Emmy Award-winning Barry Goldwater: Photographs
& Memories, Thieves of Time, Images of Arizona and
Legends & Dreamers: Inspired by Arizona Highways.
