American Heart Association's new campaign
Heart disease and stroke are the #1 killers of Hispanic Americans. The
American Heart Association's new campaign in the Hispanic Community
promotes awareness of heart disease. Guests include: Suncerria Tillis,
Director of Cultural Health Initiatives for American Heart Association,
and Marilyn Perez, Co -Chair of the American Heart Association's Cultural
Health Initiatives Committee.

Mesa Mayor Keno Hawker
A discussion with Mayor Keno Hawker and Phil Austin, President of the
Mesa Hispanic Citizens and member of Multicultural Coalition for Economic
and Social Justice. Austin's group is looking for the City of Mesa to
address the city's day labor center, Cesar Chavez holiday, diversity
in hiring and promotions, police review board, and adequate housing
plan.

Jorge Ramos
He is America's top-ranked national news anchor on Spanish language
television. Mexican-born Univision anchor Jorge Ramos has also turned
his talents to writing. He'll be on HORIZONTE to talk about his
latest book, "The Hispanic Wave." In it, Ramos tells how Hispanics'
growing voting power will be felt in the next presidential election
and beyond.
NCLR National Convention
Speaking of Hispanic voting power, the National Council of La Raza is
holding its annual convention in Phoenix, where the organization started.
More than 20,000 delegates are expected at the convention, which will
feature a speech by presumptive Democratic presidential candidate John
Kerry.
