"The atmosphere is nice. It's very cozy. The music played in the joint got me so confused. I thought I took the Delorean back to 1986. The food was disappointing. I had the lobster enchiladas. There were little chunks of lobster with a boatload of stuffing that had peppers and chiles in it and it still was bland and tasteless. The blackbeans and rice served with the dish were adequate. I did notice when waiters bused other tables that only entrees were finished. So, even though I don't have a problem with the beans and rice, other patrons do.My girlfriend had the blue corn enchiladas with shrimp. Her comment was "How can a sauce be spicy with no flavor?" Service was adequate. Another item noticed was the complimentary valet parking, which I felt was unnecessary. Overall, we were expecting a lot more from Carlsbad Tavern. There is nothing scary fantastic about this place and it doesn't beat Blue Adobe Grill in Mesa when it comes to New Mexican quisine." Mark K.

"I have yet to have anything, but excellent food and drink served at Carlsbad tavern. although most of the fare is spicier than most would appreciate, it isn't without original taste and presentation. I highly recommend it always." Johnny W.
