"This restaurant is more about ambience. I wish the food would've matched up with the ambience. I had the lamb shank that was hyped by our waiter as "Melts off the bone" well, not exactly. It's a good piece of meat, but not as good as it was pitched to us. The duck was better than the lamb shank. The coconut yam puree was over seasoned with cinnamon. I think you can get a better quality meal in Tempe than House of Tricks. Like I said,I think they concentrate on the ambience and not the quality of the food." Mark K.

"My gentleman friend and I went to House of Tricks on your shows recommendation. The atmosphere and food were excellent. Our only complaint was that when we were being seated our table was full of leaves and twigs (our seats also)..We began to brush off the table and chairs---nothing was said about someone coming to clean off the table. The waiter poring the water came..didnot attempt to help clean table followed by our waiter (who by the way was excellent all evening)..he did attempt to brush off a corner, since we still hadn't sat down because we were cleaning off table/chairs. For a higher-end restaurant we were very surprised the staff was so non-chalant that a table full of twigs/leaves should be cleanned by the customer not by the staff...May try again...not sure." "My husband and I went to House of Tricks after seeing it on your show. The seating outside was lovely and felt like being in a friends backyard. Also no complaints about service. We shared an appetizer of crab cakes which looked great and had nice texture. It was, however, very salty. I also ordered a salad with peas to and goat cheese and my husband ordered a quiche. The food was "alright". May try it again in the future and give it another try." Elizabeth K.
