Robert McGrathJose is the youngest of eleven brothers and three sisters; he immigrated to America in May of 1998. His first restaurant job in the States was at Coup Des Tartes where he started in the kitchen as a prep chef. Never before trained as a chef, Jose's natural talent for blending flavors began to show immediately.

Soon, Jose was in charge of cooking for large group parties in the private Rendezvous Room. His break came one Friday in 2004 when the current Head Chef was let go, Jose took over that night and has not left his post for the last nine years. Soon after taking over as Head Chef, Jose began to catch the eye of the then owner Natasha with his special kitchen meals made for the staff. His first recipe was his still famous Jose Pasta; this dish was the start of his input into ever-changing, and always innovative, menus at Coup Des Tartes.

In 2007 when Ron and Katie Pacioni purchased Coup Des Tartes, Jose was given the creative license to create the dishes he wanted to serve. To this day, the menu preparations are largely done by Jose alone. The quality and attention to detail in every aspect of the meal can be seen in the flavor profiles and presentations served to guests at every meal that comes from the kitchen.
