About Books & Co.
Books & Co. is a series of engaging and enlightening television interviews with prominent writers, hosted by Ron Carlson, Professor Emeritus in English/Creative Writing at Arizona State University and the Director of Graduate Fiction at the University of California, Irvine. Carlson, a writer himself, has written nine books of fiction and brings in-depth questions to the program from within the mind of a writer, questions concerning the featured work and the craft of writing itself. Books & Co. captures candid moments as authors discuss their work, the writing process and their own moods and intellectual quirks. Past interviews have included: Brad Dimock, Lisa Michaels, David Baldacci, Yann Martel, John Nichols, Joyce Carol Oates, Rita Dove, Barbara Kingsolver, Joy Harjo, Rudulfo Anaya, Terry Tempest Williams, Tim O'Brien, Alberto Rios, Alison Moore, Sherman Alexie, Clive Cussler, David Guterson, E. Annie Proulx, and Jewell Parker Rhodes. Books & Co. featured authors for 2008 are Nancy E. Turner (These is My Words), Robin Brande (Evolution, Me & Other Freaks of Nature), Peter Baird (Beyond Peleliu). And, Jana Bommersbach returns to Books & Co. as a guest host to turn the tables on Ron Carlson to discuss his latest book, Fives Skies.
