McCain and Obama: Energy Solutions
Both candidates are touting energy solutions. I don’t know that either one is going to produce the results needed for the energy crisis we are in. Even if you developed the battery proposed by McCain, you would need to re-work the entire combustion system of a car to make it more fuel efficient, or have to buy a new car altogether to make it work.
Government oversight of energy traders means nothing. We have the FDA overseeing our food situation and look how well it’s working in the wake of bad tomatoes they cannot seem to track down. We also have the story, from the Bill Moyers Journal on how OSHA is not checking into companies who are cheating on their safety inspections. Government oversight these days means they will simply ignore it, while you’ve added more money for the program that is supposed to be providing the oversight.
Personally, I like Governor Napolitano’s take on this…Arizona should be the Saudi Arabia of Solar power. We need to use more of this here in the valley, and perhaps wind and solar power in the rural areas where you have a constant breeze.
