How to Get to El Tovar:
Driving directions from Phoenix (approx. 231 miles):
Option 1:
Take I-17 north to Flagstaff. Connect to I-40 West. Travel I-40 West to Exit 164, Highway 64. Turn right on Highway 64 (north). Highway 64 will become Route 180. Continue north on Route 180 and travel directly to the South Rim.
Option 2:
Take I-17 north to Flagstaff. Connect to I-40 East. Travel I-40 East to Highway 89. Turn left on Route 89 (north) and travel to Route 64. Turn left (west) and travel until the road connects to Route 180. Turn right (north) on Route 180 and travel directly to the South Rim.
Other information (from the National Park Service Web site) - Commercial airlines serve Phoenix, Flagstaff, and Las Vegas. There is limited air service into Grand Canyon Airport (just south of the park) from Las Vegas and elsewhere.
Greyhound provides bus service to Flagstaff. Shuttle service between Phoenix and Flagstaff, and between Flagstaff and Grand Canyon Village is offered by Open Road Tours (800-766-7117), call for prices and schedules.
Amtrak provides rail service to Flagstaff with connecting bus service to the canyon. Grand Canyon Railway offers train service from Williams (for additional information call: 1-800-THE-TRAIN).

How to Get to Grand Canyon Lodge:
Driving directions from Phoenix (approx. 351 miles): Take I-17 north to I-40. Take I-40 east to Highway 89. Take Highway 89 north to Highway 89Alt. Take Highway 89Alt west to Highway 67. Take Highway 67 south directly to the North Rim.
Other information (from the National Park Service Web site)
There is no public transportation to the North Rim other than the Trans Canyon Shuttle (928-638-2820) from the South Rim.
Visitor services and facilities inside the national park on the North Rim are only open from mid May to mid October. The road from Jacob Lake to the North Rim (Highway 67) is subject to closure due to snow from mid-October to mid-May.
During the winter period when the North Rim entrance station gate is closed, the only public access into the national park is on foot, skies, or snowshoes. Snowmobiles are not allowed inside Grand Canyon National Park. Hikers and cross-country skiers are permitted to use the park's group campsites throughout the winter months if they have obtained a permit through the park's Backcountry Information Center.
Visitor services and facilities inside the national park on the North Rim are only open from mid May to mid October.

How to Get to La Posada:
From Phoenix
Driving Option 1:
Travel north on Route 87, also know as the Beeline Highway. Continue traveling north through Payson directly to Winslow. As you enter the Town of Winslow, you will go under a train bridge. At Second Street, turn right. La Posada is located on the right.
Driving Option 2:
Travel north on I-17 to Flagstaff. Take I-40 East to Winslow. When you arrive in Winslow, take Exit 252 South. At the stop sign, turn left onto Second Street. Travel approximately 1 mile through Winslow. Just after traveling through the traffic signal at Williamson Road, La Posada is located on the right.
Driving Option 3.
Travel north on I-17 to Camp Verde. Take Exit 287. At the exit ramp signal, turn right to head east on Route 260. Take Route 260 until to dead-ends with Route 87. Turn left on Route 87. You will be heading north, directly towards Winslow. As you enter the Town of Winslow, you will go under a train bridge. At Second Street, turn right. La Posada is located on the right.
