- Leesa Berens Morrison, director of the Arizona Department of Homeland Security, joins HORIZON to talk about being prepared in the event of a public emergency caused by terrorism, or manmade or natural disasters. We also visit the annual Patriot Memorial Healing Field in Tempe, which is a display of nearly 3,000 3–by-5-foot American Flags erected as a memorial to the victims of the attacks of 9/11.

September 8, 2005- salvation Army Hurricane Relief
- The Salvation Army has set up a donation center to help victims of Hurricane Katrina now living in Veteran's Memorial Coliseum in Phoenix. The center has been a huge success, with Valley residents responding quickly to the needs of the hurricane survivors. We'll talk to a Salvation Army official about the relief effort.
