  • Gold King Mine Spill Interactive Map  |   Video
    • The Gold King Mine spill dumped three million gallons of contaminated water down the Animus River in Colorado, water that eventually found its way down to Arizona. The Arizona Geological Survey has launched an interactive map where the results of over one-hundred water samples can be tracked. Arizona Geological Survey research geologist Brian Gootee will tell us more.

  • Arizona ArtBeat: Phoenix Chorale New Album  |   Video
    • The Phoenix Chorale is a Grammy-award winning musical group. Their latest album, All-Night Vigil, is a collaboration with the Kansas City Chorale. All-Night Vigil is a work by Rachmaninoff and the album celebrates the 100th anniversary of the piece. The Chorales put a decidedly modern-day twist on their album release by hosting a worldwide interactive listening party. Jen Rogers of the Phoenix Chorale and Toby Kidd, one of the singers, will tell us about the release party, the album, its significance and the history of the ensemble.

  • MAG Demographic Map Viewer  |   Video
    • The Maricopa Association of Governments has created several interactive maps that give a variety of key information for the Phoenix Metro area. Businesses and other groups can search individual areas to get information on land use, population density, percentage of minority groups, bikeways and much more. Anubhav Bagley, MAG Information Services Manager, will walk us through the map viewer.

  • AZ Technology & Innovation: Arizona SciTech Festival Kickoff Conference  |   Video
    • Hundreds of the state’s business, science and education leaders will gather in Scottsdale for the Second Annual Arizona SciTech Festival Kickoff Conference on September 4. The conference will include 16 panel discussions, a keynote address and roughly 50 interactive stations to help those participating in the 2014 Arizona SciTech Festival make the most of their planning. Jeremy Babendure, Executive Director of the Arizona SciTech Festival, and Jeanine Jerkovic, Glendale’s Economic Development Administrator, will discuss the conference and the SciTech Festival.

    • Buzz Buzz is more than just a TV show. It comprises television, an interactive Web site ( and uniquely Arizona educational materials that help teachers meet new Arizona arts standards. Discussions for the concept showcasing Arizonas emerging arts scene began more than a year ago, eventually involving more than 20 community organizations. The pilot episode features work by three Valley artists Phoenix Symphony violist and director of Downtown Chamber Series Mark Dix who brings chamber music to new audiences at downtown art galleries; fashion and ASU Dance Department costume designer Galina Mihaleva designs for dancers, models, rock stars and nanotechnologists; and urban designer and Dean of the ASU College of Design Wellington Reiter who envisions a Phoenix Sky Harbor airport where planes, condos and pools might one day co-exist. The pilot also lets viewers know where they can see and hear the work of the featured artists as well as other artists in the same fields.
