    • A group of Intel employees started a program two years ago to help low-income, high-performing students in the Phoenix-metro area prepare for the SAT college-entrance exam. Anil Goteti, CEO and co-founder of EqualOp and a packaging engineer at Intel, and Viva Valdez, a senior at Mountain View High School who is being helped by the program, will discuss EqualOp.

    • Federal officials have approved a plan that makes about 22-thousand low income Arizona children eligible for Arizona’s “KidsCare” health insurance program. In addition, the plan helps three of the State’s largest hospital systems cover costs of providing uncompensated care. Maricopa Integrated Health System CEO Betsey Bayless explains how the plan is designed to work.

  • Special Session: Corporate Tax Credits  |   Video
    • Governor Jan Brewer called a special session to expand Arizona’s corporate tax credit law to benefit disabled and foster kids. Already, corporations that owe state income tax can choose to give some, or all, of that money to a school tuition organization which uses the money to help low income kids attend private and religious schools. The special session seeks to create a similar program for foster and disabled kids.

    • For the first time ever, Arizona passed the one billion dollar mark in state revenues in April. That was fueled by a 77\% increase in state income tax revenue. That's being attributed to money being made in Arizona's red-hot housing market. We'll talk to Arizona State University Economist Tracy Clark about rising state revenues.
