  • Mexican Gray Wolves Bills  |   Video
    • A bill has been introduced that would authorize employees of the Arizona Department of Agriculture to kill endangered Mexican gray wolves that have been preying on livestock. Two other bills relating to that issue have been introduced. Sandy Bahr, chapter director of the Grand Canyon Chapter of the Sierra Club and Bas Aja, executive vice president of the Arizona Cattle Feeders' Association, will discuss the pros and cons of the bills.

    • Senate Bill 1200, passed by state lawmakers and signed by the Governor, makes numerous changes to Arizona’s impaired driving laws. Hear from the bill’s sponsor Senator Linda Gray and Cliff Girard, a Phoenix defense attorney who has filed a referendum to stop part of that bill from going into effect.

  • Protecting Arizona's Children Part 2  |   Video
    • In part two of our series about Arizona Child Protective Services, we examine problems of the system. We profile John Gray, father of four-year-old Haley, who died in the custody of her mother. Gray had been battling CPS to gain custody of his three children from his ex-wife. He has sought reforms at the state level and is now suing CPS for wrongful death. Arizona Republic editorialist Laurie Roberts joins us to talk about the many cases she has covered in her column.

  • DUI Interlock Devices
    • The state legislature passed and the Governor signed a bill to require interlock devices for people convicted of drunk driving. However, lawmakers have had a change of heart, and are working on a bill to make changes to the one just passed. Representative John Kavanagh and Senator Linda Gray will discuss the bill.
  • Proposition 100
    • Last fall, voters approved proposition 100, which requires illegal immigrants accused of serious felonies to be held without bail. Critics charge that the courts are not enforcing the new law, and the state legislature is considering a bill that would lower the level of proof for holding an illegal immigrant accused of a serious felony without bail. Senator Linda Gray and Representative Ben Miranda discuss the measure.

  • Proposition 207
    • An examination of the proposition that would limit the definition of public use in eminent domain seizures, and would ensure compensation to property owners if the government enacts a law that diminishes the value of private property. Ken Strobeck, the Executive Director of the League of Arizona Cities and Towns and State Senator Chuck Gray will discuss the issue.
  • Proposition 205
    • Proposition 205 would change Arizona's voting system to a largely vote by mail process. Hear the pros and cons of the measure.

    • In the wake of the U.S. Supreme Court's decision concerning eminent domain powers, a flurry of legislation is making its way through the capitol. Representatives Chuck Gray and Tom Prezelski discuss the issue.
