  • Arizona ArtBeat: Scottsdale Arts Collaboration  |   Video
    • The Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts and the Scottsdale International Film Festival are joining forces to share resources and offer expanded film programs. The alliance will officially start in January, and will provide operational and promotional support to grow the annual festival and expand year-round film programming at the center. Scottsdale International Film Festival Founder and Executive Director Amy Ettinger will join the staff of the Center as a film curator, and will talk about the collaboration.

  • Arizona Technology and Innovation: 2014 Innovation Arizona Summit  |   Video
    • The 2014 Innovation Arizona Summit takes place in Scottsdale August 14. The summit is a joint effort of the Arizona SciTech Festival, the MIT Enterprise Forum Phoenix and the Arizona Commerce Authority. It will explore the lifecycle of innovation from inspiration to commercialization. The summit will also enable collaborators to network and engage in discussions about science, technology, entrepreneurship and innovation. Jeremy Babendure, executive director of the Arizona SciTech Festival and Robert Green, CEO of EndoVantage, will discuss the innovation summit.

  • AZ Technology & Innovation: Arizona SciTech Festival Kickoff Conference  |   Video
    • Hundreds of the state’s business, science and education leaders will gather in Scottsdale for the Second Annual Arizona SciTech Festival Kickoff Conference on September 4. The conference will include 16 panel discussions, a keynote address and roughly 50 interactive stations to help those participating in the 2014 Arizona SciTech Festival make the most of their planning. Jeremy Babendure, Executive Director of the Arizona SciTech Festival, and Jeanine Jerkovic, Glendale’s Economic Development Administrator, will discuss the conference and the SciTech Festival.

    • The Arizona SciTech Festival is underway, with over 200 events throughout the state. Scheduled for February 18th at Arizona State University is the Maker Faire, an event filled with student and community project demonstrations, do-it-yourself activities and workshops and the Duel in the Desert scrimmage for FIRST Robotics. Dr. Chell Roberts, Executive Dean of ASU College of Tech and Innovation, will discuss the Maker Faire.

  • The Sedona Jazz on the Rocks Youth Band
    • The Sedona Jazz on the Rocks (SJOR) festival is right around the corner (Sept. 26 -30). One of the goals of the festival is to provide an environment for talented high school jazz musicians to expand their musicianship and performance techniques. Twelve young musicians from seven Arizona high schools have been selected as members of this band. They rehearse and perform around the state with SJOR musicians leading up to the festival. We catch up with the Youth Band while theyre in town for a gig.
