    • Buildings, roads, parking lots and other man-made structures have caused the average nighttime temperatures in the Phoenix Area to increase dramatically. Mick Dalrymple, Arizona State University’s Energize Phoenix Project Manager, has a plan to reduce nighttime temperatures by one degree. Dalrymple will discuss his plans.

  • Helicopter Pilot Program  |   Video
    • Arizona State University student Bryan Duarte has developed a program that helps helicopter pilots have 360-degree situational awareness through the use of three-dimensional audio. The software will help pilots have an awareness of their surroundings in situations where they cannot see, such as in clouds or in smoke. Duarte was spurred to develop the program after losing his eyesight in a motorcycle accident.

    • Arizona State University’s College of Technology and Engineering will offer the only Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing Engineering in Arizona.     • Kigabo Mbazumutima is a doctor from the West African Republic of Benin who grew up in primitive conditions but was inspired by his two sisters to obtain a medical degree. He is now working, along with help from Arizona State University, to bring medical care to his people. Mbazumutima will talk about his efforts and his life.
