  • Mexican Gray Wolves Bills  |   Video
    • A bill has been introduced that would authorize employees of the Arizona Department of Agriculture to kill endangered Mexican gray wolves that have been preying on livestock. Two other bills relating to that issue have been introduced. Sandy Bahr, chapter director of the Grand Canyon Chapter of the Sierra Club and Bas Aja, executive vice president of the Arizona Cattle Feeders' Association, will discuss the pros and cons of the bills.

    • For some, the cost of getting a portrait can be prohibitive, so they may not have a nice family picture to hang on the wall. The Photographer’s Adventure Club will be taking part in the Help-Portrait event this weekend. Photographers will be taking studio-quality portraits this Saturday at the Venue in Scottsdale. Nicholas Pappagallo, national president of the Photographer's Adventure Club, will tell us more.

    • The 3000 Club is a Phoenix-based charity that was born in 2008 as an idea to save a food bank that had lost its major donor. The idea was to get 3,000 supporters to donate $100 yearly. Besides feeding hungry families, the 3000 Club has expanded to include a farmers market, where you can buy 60 pounds of produce for $10, and a medical reclamation program to redistribute unused medical supplies to other countries. 3000 Club Co-founder and CEO Ethel Luzario will talk about her organization.

    • In the past, to encourage growth, landowners were not charged by APS for the first $25,000 of costs to extend power lines to their properties. The Arizona Corporation Commission has reversed that policy. Now, landowners must pay the complete cost of connecting their properties to a source of power. Critics say this has unfairly lowered property values and negatively impacted Arizona’s economy.
