    • “At Work in Arizona: The First 100 Years,” is a coffee table book filled with photos depicting the history of work in Arizona. Among the photos are a Jerome mine train in 1900 and a Tucson pressed brick company in the 1920s. The book was commissioned by Alliance Bank and Jim Lundy, president and CEO of the bank, and Marilyn Szabo, curator of the book, will talk about the book and how proceeds benefit education in our state.

    • The Export-Import Bank of the United States provides loans and loan guarantees to businesses when other financing is not available. The bank’s charter will lapse on September 30 unless Congress acts. Business groups are concerned about the possible demise of the bank. Dennis Hoffman, director of the L. William Seidman Research Institute at the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University, will talk about what the bank does and its importance.

    • During the summer months, the need for emergency food supplies is affected by kids being out of school. St. Vincent de Paul has come up with a way to help the thousands of struggling families and the homeless. The campaign is called "Be a Summer Action Hero" and the effort encourages people to donate food and money to help St. Vincent de Paul. Shannon Clancy, development director for St. Vincent de Paul, and Beverly Damore, President and CEO of St. Mary’s Food Bank, will discuss efforts to keep people fed during the summer months.

    • The 3000 Club is a Phoenix-based charity that was born in 2008 as an idea to save a food bank that had lost its major donor. The idea was to get 3,000 supporters to donate $100 yearly. Besides feeding hungry families, the 3000 Club has expanded to include a farmers market, where you can buy 60 pounds of produce for $10, and a medical reclamation program to redistribute unused medical supplies to other countries. 3000 Club Co-founder and CEO Ethel Luzario will talk about her organization.
