    • The Greater Phoenix area has been named one of the best intergenerational regions in the country. MetLife Foundation and Generations United have announced the Maricopa region will receive one of four Best Intergenerational Communities Awards on March 25 in Washington, D.C. Maricopa Association of Governments Human Services Director Amy St. Peter and Jacky Alling, Senior Program Officer at the Arizona Community Foundation, will discuss the award and why the Phoenix area is receiving it.

    • Five Arizona chefs have been given the “Ripe Award” at an event at the Phoenix Art Museum. The award requires them to represent Arizona food culture to the rest of the nation and world in 2014. Maricopa County Supervisor Steve Chucri, who has served as the president and CEO of the Arizona Restaurant Association, will talk about the awards and the mission of the awards. Joining him are Chefs Justin Beckett of Beckett’s Table, and Gio Osso of Vitru, both 2014 “Ripe Award” winners.

Known as the “Academy Awards” of the environmental community, the awards spotlight distinguished projects throughout the Valley that demonstrate a high level of environmental commitment and contribute to sustainability. Diane Brossart, President and CEO of Arizona Forward, will discuss the awards.

    • The Governor's Celebration of Innovation awards were recently handed out. The annual gala where the awards are given is held by the Arizona Technology Council in partnership with the Arizona Commerce Authority. Technology leaders and innovators from companies and schools across the state are honored. Arizona Technology Council President and CEO Steve Zylstra will talk about the winners.

    • Last year, the group "Women Impacting Public Policy" hosted an awards ceremony and forum at the Wrigley Mansion featuring Arizona's three female Governors, and Horizon was there to capture the historic event. Arizona is the only state in the U.S. to have three female governors.
