    • A judge issued an injunction that stops Phoenix police officers from doing union work while on the job. The Phoenix Law Enforcement Association, a police union, says it will fight the injunction that was issued after a lawsuit by the Goldwater Institute. Clint Bolick, the lead attorney for Goldwater, will discuss the issue along with Mark Spencer, the Southwest Project Coordinator for Judicial Watch.

    • There will be a free screening of the Bill Moyers production, “The United States of ALEC,” sponsored by AFSCME, the Arizona public employees union. ALEC IS the American Legislative Exchange Council, and critics say it allows corporations to direct and produce legislation for state legislatures. Common Cause President and CEO Bob Edgar will introduce the film and present a new report on all ALEC-backed legislation introduced in Arizona this year.

    • Arizona's high school graduation rate has jumped 24 percent over the past decade, the highest increase in the nation. Part of that growth can be attributed to a ten percent increase in the Latino graduation rate from 2005 to 2011. Bill Hart of ASU's Morrison Institute and Dr. Kent Scribner, Superintendent of the Phoenix Union High School District, will discuss what led to the increase.

    • See what happens when a dirt lot in downtown Phoenix is transformed into the Valley of the Sunflowers. VOS partners include Roosevelt Row Community Development Corporation, Phoenix Union Bioscience High School and Intel. This effort activates and beautifies vacant land with sunflowers to be harvested and turned into biofuel.

    • A bill that would place a measure on the ballot to amend the constitution to define marriage as the union of one man and one woman has passed the state house of representatives. The International Astronomical Union stripped Pluto of planetary status it's held since being discovered at an Arizona observatory in 1930.
